THE PROCESS
What to expect during the custom jewelry design and creation process.

Your first meeting with Courtney will entail a discussion of your custom jewelry needs and any specifics you feel are necessary. Together, you will look over any pictures or other jewelry examples you may like to get a feel for your custom piece. We will also gather any other needed information before completing the initial meeting.
Then Courtney will spend time sketching and creating design ideas before your follow-up meeting. This second meeting can be held in person or via email, phone, or zoom. Once the sketches and proposed design ideas have been presented, you will be encouraged to elaborate which design elements you prefer and consider at least three different possibilities.
The next step will be to decide which type of stone, diamond or other gemstone, would be best for your design. After choosing the appropriate design direction and negotiating the price, you will need to put down a deposit. This amount will be determined as a percentage on the commission. At that point, Courtney will begin the production process by carving a model of the piece into jeweler's wax.
Once the wax model of your custom jewelry piece is complete, you will review it for approval. Once the model has passed your approval, it will then be cast into the metal of your choice and the finish will be applied. Then the stones will be set, and your custom ring or jewelry piece will be complete!
You will receive your custom jewelry piece after payment has been received.

ENGAGEMENT RINGS +
WEDDING SETS

An organic design inspired by tree branches. These 14K yellow gold tendrils support a cushion cut ruby with a halo of diamonds.

Shana and Damon came to Courtney....

Celina and Doug came to Courtney with the simple idea of incorporating trees into their custom wedding set. Doug hails from the Pacific Northwest and is a self-proclaimed lumberjack, and Celina his lumber-lady. For Celina, she carved a thin contour band, resembling a delicate branch, to fit perfectly into her engagement ring. Courtney mimicked a bark-like texture for Doug's woodsy band. Both rings are in 14K yellow gold.

Peter and Christina came to Courtney to bring to life a design concept for Peter's wedding ring. Christina's middle name is Dove, and it was her idea to incorporate Picasso's "Dove" painting into the design for Peter's ring. The image was hand carved into the ring before being cast in 14K white gold with a matte satin finish.

Myrtle Beach holds a special place in the heart of this couple. Chylin approached Courtney with the hopes of incorporating the beach town into her fiance's ring. Courtney suggested that an anklet that he had bought for her years earlier on one of their visits to the boardwalk, be used as the texture for Brandon's ring. It was a perfect representation of their long relationship and both were thrilled at the results. Ring: 14K white gold, dual satin/high polish finish.

Courtney hand carved this special ring for her mother. Using the gold and diamonds from the original wedding set, Courtney was able to create a beautiful, updated version of her mother's wedding ring. A ring with already so much sentimental value, taken to new heights by being handmade by her very talented daughter.

Rob and Liz's complementary wedding bands are the epitome simple elegance and timeless design made of 14k white gold. A 1ct round diamond tops the engagement ring with scrolling around the bottom. The complementary wedding bands feature three small diamonds set down the center of each. The bride's band also serves as a contour band and perfectly compliments the engagement ring.

Eleanor commissioned this piece from out of state. She had multiple family heirlooms that she wanted to repurpose into an engagement ring and contour band. The completed set is a stunning design of diamonds surrounded with 14k rose gold.

Sean, a very talented local artist, came into the studio with a stunning engagement ring design for his fiance, Jamie. The 40 pt princess cut diamond is set 14k white gold with small diamonds bead set along the inside groove. The custom engagement ring was designed with similar elements to compliment the existing wedding band.

Gloria had fallen in love with the ring Courtney had created for Douglas and Meg, her son and daughter-in-law. She wanted to create a similar design utilizing her existing engagement ring and wedding band. The combination resulted in this stunning 14k white gold ring with 1.5 ct marque diamond and diamond tapering in channel set grooves down the sides.

Sarah is one of Courtney's oldest and dearest friends, so creating this piece was especially sentimental. Mark and Courtney collaborated on the design and produced an elegant 14k white gold band with 1ct princess cut diamond. This piece is one of Sarah's most beloved possessions.

This bride and groom's rings where created with a similar pattern in 14k white gold and striking blue sapphires.

This groom, a local tattoo artist, wanted to create a band that was open on the top so that the ruby tattooed on his finger would become part of the design. The bride's wedding ring features a scroll pattern up the sides with a small diamond in the face of the keyhole pattern. These 14k white gold wedding bands were designed to lock together to create a truly unique and beautiful wedding set.

Christi and Mary decided to have custom anniversary rings designed to commemorate their 20th Anniversary. Courtney created an original pattern with Australian Opal and Blue Lapis inlayed in 14k Yellow Gold.

This beautiful bride wanted to create a layered effect with gemstones sporadically set around the band. For Christine, Courtney created this 2-toned ring with light blue topaz, blue sapphires, and a .33 ct round cut diamond. The bands are both sterling silver wrapped with 14k white gold and 14k yellow gold with different textures and finishes on each layer.

Douglas and Meg wanted a more modern, minimalist design for their wedding rings. The bride's ring was designed in 14k white gold with a .50ct diamond in a setting that can easily be adjusted when she decides to upgrade to a larger diamond. The peek-a-boo sides allow you to see the culet of stone showcasing Meg's beautiful diamond. The groom's ring was created to mimic the rectangular shape of the bride's setting. The solid 14k white gold band has a recessed rectangle with stipple texturing.

These complementary his and hers wedding rings are made from 14K White Gold with a half carat Green Tourmaline. The inspiration for these pieces came from the bride's beautiful flowered vine tattoos flowing up her arms. The groom wanted to keep the same theme for his men's wedding band, so Courtney designed it with a high polished leaf pattern and a sand blasted matte background. Ben and Glenda loved how their rings turned out and we wish them the best of luck in their new life together!

Jeremy proposed to Bekah with a twist tie which became the inspiration for this piece. Courtney created the twist tie effect in 14k white gold and pink sapphire. The engagement ring and wedding band sit flush with each other creating a lovely complimentary set.
CUSTOM EARRINGS, PENDANTS,
& RINGS

This was the beginning of a complete set which will lead into an engagement ring that compliments the pendant, earrings, and bracelet we will create for her. 14K yellow gold, sterling silver, garnet, peridot and diamonds on a double strand chain, one sterling silver and one 14K yellow gold.

A gentleman from out of state commissioned this unique design. Courtney developed an ethereal color palette using purple sodalite, custom cut blue-green chrysocollas with malachite specs, and dazzling green tourmaline set in 14k yellow gold bezels throughout the piece. The center stone is a cushion cut purple amethyst set in 14k yellow gold with two brilliant Australian opals hanging down. The necklace it set in platinum silver with 14k yellow gold bead accents.

Bringing the sentiment of old into the new. Melted down a chunky heirloom bracelet to form these hand carved links. The organic detailing allows for nice fluid movement around the wrist. 14K yellow gold.

Earl cut these chrysoprase cabochons himself in a jewelry class at Creative Side Jewelry Academy. He commissioned Courtney to create these sterling silver earrings for his wife, Doris, as a an 18th wedding anniversary gift. Earl and Doris are active students at the jewelry academy.

Marisa's father commissioned this necklace as a graduation gift. The 14k yellow gold scrolls appear to dance around a 20x12 mm pear shaped purple amethyst. Diamonds are set in the small scrolls coming down and the bail is hidden behind the pendant so that it appears to float on its own volition. This necklace was designed to reflect and delight the dancer's spirit in Marisa's heart.

It was a pleasure creating this piece- transforming an element of danger into a beautiful badge of honor a and heroism. Letter from Erik: "Awhile ago the truck I was riding in was hit by a roadside bomb made up of mostly copper. When we got out of the truck, I found a 3 in piece of copper lodged in the armor of my truck right next to where I sit. I pulled the piece out and kept it and will be bringing it home. I'd like to make some sort of pendant for my girlfriend out of that copper piece."

This was a very sweet present from
