Frequently Asked Questions
about custom jewelry designs
How much does custom work cost?
Depending on the project custom work generally starts around $2,000-4,000. This is subject to change depending on the labor involved, the detail, what metal and stones are incorporated. Please keep in mind that there is considerably more time involved in creating a custom piece than there is in the process of mass-produced jewelry that you will find at most retailers.
To request a quote, call or email with what you have in mind, send images and a description of your dream piece. The more details the better to get you an idea of cost and time needed to bring your idea to life.
Creating the perfect piece to match your style, taste and budget is the priority. PAYMENT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE.
Do I need to provide the diamonds or gemstones?
As a full-service jeweler, I seek out the right diamond or gemstone for your custom project. Matching the best quality stone for your needs and budget is included as part of the design process.
Can I reuse/recycle old gold, gemstones or jewelry to create a new piece?
Absolutely! All casting is done in house and your old metal can be used or refined for your project. I specialize in taking old heirloom jewelry, diamonds, and giving them new life.
How long does it take to create a custom ring or set of rings?
Don’t wait, call or email as soon as you can to get the project started. It’s important to allow as much time as possible for the creative process. Rush jobs are possible depending on the detail involved. When necessary, some rings can be completed in a very short amount of time; as little as 2-3 weeks. Please contact me to inquire about a time frame.
Can I bring in a sketch of my design for Courtney to create?
Absolutely! I am happy to work one-on-one with you to bring your unique design to life. I love it when clients want to get involved- it makes the piece that much more special for the receiver.
What if I have no idea what I want?
No problem! Meeting one-on-one to discuss and offer design ideas is the first step. If you are unable to come into the studio, meetings via phone, email or zoom are great too. I have worked with customers all over the country and beyond.
What if I don't want a diamond in my engagement ring?
This is more common than you’d think. The Custom Engagement and Wedding Ring Gallery features a number of rings without diamonds as the featured stone. If a diamond is not the right stone for you, there is a vast collection of gemstones that span all the colors of the rainbow. Together we’ll find the right one to suit your one-of-a-kind piece.
