And how to reset your rhythm without hitting a wall

There’s a pace that starts to feel normal after a while—The long days. The quick pivots. The half-finished thoughts. You tell yourself it’s just a busy season… but that season stretches on.

And suddenly, you're waking up more tired than rested, reacting instead of choosing, and wondering why the spark feels so far away.

I’ve been there. And I’ve worked with enough artists and makers to know this isn’t just personal—it’s patterned.

This post isn’t about productivity. It’s a check-in. A pattern interruption. Let’s name a few signs that you might be moving too fast—before the fatigue turns into frustration, and before you start believing the problem is you.

1. You're in motion, but not in completion

Emails half-written. Orders almost packed. A necklace nearly polished. You’re not slacking—your mind is already three tasks ahead. You’re chasing momentum instead of building it.

Ask yourself: Am I leaving a trail of almost-done behind me?

2. Everything feels urgent

A comment on Instagram. A ping from a client. A simple question from a loved one. Even the smallest things feel like pressure. You jump. You flinch. You react.

Ask yourself: Is this truly urgent… or just loud?

3. You’re multitasking so hard, you forget what you’ve already done

You’re editing photos while listening to a podcast, while making a grocery list, while answering texts. And when you finally sit down to breathe? You feel blank.

Ask yourself: When was the last time I gave something my full, undistracted attention?

4. You’re productive, but disconnected

You’re showing up. You’re checking boxes. But there’s no celebration, no spark—just motion. The list never ends, and nothing feels like a win.

Ask yourself: Am I actively participating in my business—or just pushing it forward?

5. Your body’s needs are always the last priority

You skip meals. Delay water. Hold your bladder because “you’re in the zone.” But your body? It’s been asking for something simpler: care.

Ask yourself: What signals is my body sending that I’ve been ignoring?

6. Even rest feels like performance

You take a bath—but scroll the entire time. You go for a walk—but only if you're “learning something” while you do it. You meditate—just to check it off.

Ask yourself: When was the last time I rested without trying to improve anything?

7. You feel far from your why

You’re still making, still marketing, still moving. But the work feels mechanical. The purpose feels distant. You’ve replaced vision with velocity.

Ask yourself: Can I still name what this is all for?

So what now?

If you recognize yourself in any of this—pause. Just for a moment. Not because you’ve done something wrong. But because your nervous system might need a reminder of what calm feels like.

Here’s what I’ve been practicing, imperfectly but intentionally:

  • Pause for 10 seconds before responding to anything that feels urgent.

  • Let one thing land before jumping to the next.

  • Create one hour of unstructured time each week. No task. No output. Just space.

  • Check in with your pace, not just your productivity.

You don’t need to stop everything. Sometimes that’s not even possible. But you can turn the volume down. You can choose to move with a little more care.

And if all you can manage today is the bare minimum?Do it on purpose. Do it with grace.

Because rest isn’t something you earn. It’s something you require.
